Catalina's Placewww.dsoclan.com also a Proud GamerchiX and Xbox Ambassador September 05 DSO aka Delta Special OpsHello everyone. As you can see my gamertag has changed. Well the last three letters have changed. I'm now Catalina DSO. I'm one of seven women who have founded an online gaming community/clan. DSO aka Delta Special Ops. We're co-ed and right now we have divisions in both COD4 and Halo 3. The COD4 division is co-ed whereas in Halo 3 we have an all female division as well as an all male division. We do plan to add a GOW division close to when GOW2 is released.
I'm loving our clan and our forums. If interested you can check our website out at www.dsoclan.com Feel free to look around and visit. We just ask that you keep any posting clean and in good taste. Our community members and clan members range in age from around 12 to the early 50's. So play and post nice please. If you're looking for an online clan to join feel free to read the recruitment requirements as well as our practice protocols and requirements to see if we are what you are looking for. We look for a good attitude. Skill is nice though not necessary but a good attitude is essential.
April 24 OOPS!!!Well I did it again. I stayed away for far too long. I guess I have been so busy with clan related things. I am now the PMS Halo 2 Delta Practice Manager and I do a lot of charting and things. I'm also still enjoying being an Xbox Ambassador even though it seems to be a little slow right now. I do still get gamers contacting me for info though. I've been playing a lot of Halo 2 again and find that most of my time is in that game. I still love the multiplayer on GOW and really surprised myself with that one. I didn't think I would like it. I also really enjoy the new game type, Annex. To me it makes a great alternative to Warzone and Execution. At least with Annex you get to keep respawning and playing. GRAW2 - I really enjoy the co-op mode in this. To work together with several of your friends to reach an objective is alot of fun. Crackdown - Another game I didn't think I would like at first and that grabbed ahold of me. I love looking for the silly orbs. You could get really obsessed with it. Again I enjoy the co-op more than the single player. Viva Pinata - Don't play it all the time because you can get lost in it and several hours are gone before you even realize it. Still love it though and I now have three gardens that I am working in. I had a streak going with the "Your 360 can talk" and had reached 244 days in a row that I had played and even though I played Halo 2 yesterday I forgot to play something that is for the 360, like an arcade game, and so now my streak is over. Oh well it was a lot of pressure some days to just keep it going. Now if I just want to take a day away from gaming altogether I can and not feel guilty. I wonder if I subconciously missed yesterday? Well happy gaming everyone! February 08 ObsessionViva Pinata has become my new obsession. It is such a colorful and fun game that the change of pace is so relaxing. Of course you have your action in that you have to try to get rid of sour pinatas when they come into your garden or you can tame them. Then there are the ruffians and Professor Pester. They are NOT nice. They come into your garden and destroy stuff and even will break your pinatas. I've lost a couple of my favorites this way. I didn't catch the Professor in time to pay him off so he would leave my garden and he "killed" a Cinnamonkey and a Squazzel. I don't name all my pinatas but these two I had. I had even bought them accessories. Oh another cinnamonkey came into the garden and became a resident and I named her Chee Chee just like the other one. Chee Chee was my pet monkey's name when I was a kid. She was great and so I thought I would have another Chee Chee even if this one is only a video paper pet and not real like the original was.
Then there was Fluffy the Squazzel. She was pretty. I had her eat a flower head and turn purple. She was a companion to Cuddly. Oh well Cuddly seems happy enough. I replaced Fluffy with Fifi. Cuddly is not complaining.
I started playing yesterday and in what seemed like just an hour or two was actually over five. I couldn't believe how much time had pasted while I worked in my garden. This game makes me want a pretty flower garden for real. I might even try it this year. You have to understand though that I generally end up "killing" anything I try to grow in real life. When one of my trees died in the game the other day my husband looked at me and said, " Wow, Cathy, that's pretty bad. You can't even grow plants in a video game." Thanks Ted. January 21 WinterHere in our area we were wondering if Winter was going to pass us by this year. Oh sure we've had some, a few, cold days but nothing really significant. Today when we woke up the ground was mostly white. Not alot of snow but it was still snowing as the sun rose and then it changed to sleet. So now the ground is covered in ice and it is still sleeting. Not sure how long this will last. I think it's suppose to be over by this evening. The only thing is if the temps drop tonight then it isn't going to melt and the kids will get a snow day probably. We'll have to wait and see. I know my daughter would appreciate a three day weekend. They were out last Monday for Martin Luther King day and then my son missed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday because of a stomach/intestinal virus and the flu. He only went to school one day last week and he is hoping to have tomarrow off too. Let's see, he's a guy, he's 16 and he doesn't want to go to school............imagine that. December 17 Amazing DaySome days are just totally amazing. I had one of those days on Monday the 11th. In the clan that I am in, PMS, we have a brother clan called the H2Os. These guys are wonderful. They totally support female gamers and are there for us when we need them to be. Now a guy can be a "waterboy" without being in the H2O clan. I am now fortunate to have two wonderful H2Os. Neda has been my friend and supporter for over a year now and he has helped me so much in game and out. He truly is a wonderful friend. My other H2O is Largo. He is the co-leader of the H2O clan. He became my H2O on Monday. He too has been a good friend for quite some time and he is wonderful.
So on Sunday night he calls and leaves a message on my answering machine and I called him back. He wanted to know if I could invite him into our pre-game lobby at the end of practice the next day so I said ok. He had told me he needed to tell the girls something. So the next day we invited him in and he took us to the map called Ivory Tower (Halo 2) and asked us to meet him on the back of the wood where the plasma pistol spawns. We gathered around and he shot the floor and asked me to stand there so I did. Then he had his Spartan to get down on one knee and asked me if I would do him the honor of allowing him to be my H2O. I was totally shocked! I in no way expected that but I am really happy about it.
Monday was also good because I was made a Staff member in my clan division, Delta. I will now be keeping track of practices and who comes to them. I really love this clan and all the friends I have made because of them. November 21 Re-doing the living roomWhen you live in an old house the things that need to be done are constant. I have been wanting to re-do the living room for quite some time and we were finally able to do it this past weekend and last night. It is definitely brighter and I am still getting use to the color. You have to understand though, I grew up in this house and from the time I was in my late teens the walls in the living room were that dark paneling and we had gray carpet. So you can imagine what kind of shape they were in. So anyway there are some before, during and after photos of the room in my photo section. November 17 INNER PEACEMy Sister-in-Law sent this to me.
I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following the simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started and never finished." And Peace Be With YOU |
